About Nancy Haley
Nancy Haley founded Sun-Daze by Nancy Haley in 1986. Sun-Daze hit the golf market with an auspicious start. In 1987, Haley descended on the PGA Show armed with a sign, samples, and no booth space. She had been told earlier in the year that the show was sold out. Haley was not about to let a chance such as the PGA Show get away from her, and she ended up with a small space in the corner that had a two-foot-wide opening. The Sun-Daze designs were a huge hit, and Haley left the show with more orders than she could handle.
After creating a smashing success with women’s apparel, in 1990, Haley expanded into menswear, dropping the Sun-Daze name and creating the Sport-Haley brand. The growth and success of Sport-Haley was apparent through growing sales and industry-wide recognition for Haley. She successfully took Sport-Haley public in 1992. When Haley retired in 1996, Sport-Haley had approached its peak at more than $21 million in annual sales. Her accomplishment placed Haley on Golf Magazine’s list of “The 40 Most Powerful People in Golf”. She was one of only two women on the list in the company of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Eli Callaway.
